When you lose an election

less than 1 minute read

In May, Labour lost the general election and the Tories won. Yesterday, the Trade Union Bill was passed by the House of Commons. Today, welfare cuts were passed by the House of Commons. That’s what happens when Labour’s not in government: the Tories pass Tory bills and people suffer.

That’s why Labour has to try to win elections.

Enough of all this “principle over power” rubbish. If we have no power, our principles – our shared principles – achieve nothing.

What has Jeremy Corbyn achieved? He’s made a few people feel good, he’s sung the Red Flag in a pub and he’s refused to sing the national anthem in a church. Bravo.
